Julie Garza is one of the most renowned and loved radio presenters by the Hispanic community in the State of North Carolina. The program director and On Air Personality of La Ley 101.FM has more than 20 years of experience in radio and the entertainment industry. She began her career in Austin, Texas as co-host of a Spanish Rock radio show. Thanks to her charming and pleasing personality she broke through a field dominated by men and became one of only 20 female program directors in the nation.
Throughout her career, Garza has received many awards including Latin American Women’s Club 2008, Monitor Latino Programadora del Año 2009 and Monitor Latino Locutora del Año 2009. She has also been nominated by Monitor Latino for the Year’s Program Director for 2011 and 2012, 2013 and 2015. She has interviewed many of the most important artists of our time like Ana Barbara, Espinoza Paz, Diana Reyes, Juanes, Paulina Rubio, Angel and Khriz, Horoscopos de Durango, Alex Lora, and La Banda El Recodo.
Her voice has been featured in various advertising campaigns in both English and Spanish. Some of her clients include, but are not limited to, Goodwill Community Foundation, Picasso Pawn, Cricket Wireless, and Kimbrell's Furniture.
Garza has been invited to participate in radio and music conferences such as the Billboards Regional Music Conference, Convención Monitor Latino and the last edition of Radio and Records Conference. She was also interviewed by Univision’s Aquí y Ahora on a story on the popularity of Mexican Regional music in the United States. In 2012 she was guest Judge for Azteca America’s reality show "Quiero Ser Grupero."
From 2013 to 2015 she was an active member of Governor McCrory's Council on Hispanic Affairs. Garza focused on promoting inlcusion of Hispanics in many of the States public safety initiatives.
Since February of 2012 she manages her own entertainment company, Julie Garza Entertaminent. In this other professional facet, she organizes and plans special events. Her creativity and dynamics allow her to bring joy, fun, enthusiasm and inspiration to her audiences in every event. Garza graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in Radio-TV-Film. She was born in Brownsville, Texas and currently lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband and mother.
